Thursday update...

Our day started off with a stop to spend a few minutes inside the CERI offices because one of our translators was delayed in arriving.  The girl we now sponsor was able to join us there and spent the day at camp with us.  We used wait time to get some photos.  We currently sponsor Maria and formerly sponsored Lena who has been with us all week.  Maria just graduated from vocational high school and has a job in a large grocery store in the meat department.  Her schedule, however, is grueling.  She works 2 days on and 2 days off - 12-14 hour days with one hour off.  She is planning to look for another job as this is a very difficult job with lots of stress.  She is currently completing her school internship which is complete June 30th.
Maria R,  Linda, Lena and John...
Great to share the week with Lena...
Due to work schedule, Maria could only be with us today.
Headed on to camp and stopped at the stork nest I had spied yesterday as we passed by.  Mama stork was feeding her young and it was delightful to see.

Arrival at camp somewhat delayed but we got started right away.
Love the singing...
Reviewing John 3: 16 with the help of Elena, my terrific translator.
Another drama using translators and some kids as the story of Joseph continues.  Today the brothers arrived in Egypt to get grain because of the famine in the land.  They do not recognize him but he recognizes them.
Bowing to Joseph as his dream had foretold.
Creative costumes from sheets and curtains!!!
Kids love the depiction / action...
Some breeze but still a very hot day.

Then on to small groups...  Mark and his little guys.
Deanna and her middle aged girls...
After lunch one activity John led was string figures...

Translator was immensely helpful...

Crafts with Lesley and Deanna....

Boy time for strings...

Teaching skills at an early age...

Proud of their "mosquitoes"...
Day Camp wraps up with singing before the ice cream treat as they head home...

After Day Camp we divide into 2 groups and head to 2 homes...
I visited an 80 year old woman who cares for her 54 year old invalid daughter...
Very willing to share her life story with us...
She had just come in from her weedless, amazing garden with a beautiful bowl of raspberries...
Backyard garden tour revealed a ready to harvest section of green beans so I stepped in and started picking some for these ladies...
This gal does all her own planting, weeding, watering, harvesting...  She has a beautiful garden!!!
Arrived back at our team house to see Viorica whom we also formerly sponsored as she participated in a graduation event planned and prepared by a team that is just arriving from Nashville.  Viorica has been part of that church's Moldova ministry.

After supper it was time to fill gift bags...
Great team we have here...

Another photo op with Viorica.  She is in pre-med at the University in Chisinau and loving it!!
The night before our last day of camp is always a very busy one.  As I post this, I'll be about ready for tomorrow.  Thanks for continued prayer.  We had some new kids at camp again today but the number stayed at about 100 total attendees and workers.  Very warm but no rain so far.  G'night.
